Final Review | Strengthening Civil Society in Syria as a Pillar for Democratic Transition

Project Presentation

People in Need’s project in northern Syria worked to strengthen the capacities of Local Councils, Civil Society Organisations and other administrative structures and service providers, primarily by providing capacity building services. Subsequently, in reaction to proposals put forth, a selection of projects in school rehabilitation, WASH, equipment provision and further training took place. The objective of the final external review was to collect data to assess the relevance, effectiveness, impact and sustainability of the project and with actionable recommendations for future interventions.

The methodology included a secondary data review, KIIs with Local Council members, head teachers and PIN staff, FGDs and observation visits. Upon completion of data collection an analysis of the data was conducted and reported back to PIN, which will contribute towards improving future programming.
