Trust Consultancy & Development was commissioned by the Centre for Civil Society and Democracy (CCSD) to evaluate two of its projects: 1) The Syrian Civic Platform (SCP), which is jointly funded by the United States State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) and Canada’s Global Affairs Peace and Stabilization Operations Program (PSOP), as well as 2) The “Women for the Future of Syria Program” funded by the International Republican Institute (IRI).
The purpose of the assignment was to conduct an evaluation of both projects across its implementation locations of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkey. The evaluation included a detailed analysis of the effectiveness, relevance, and sustainability of the projects, based on the OECD DAC criteria, and documented lessons learned. Primarily qualitative data was collected through a total of 40 KIIs which were conducted with relevant stakeholders. Insights gained from the analysis were used to provide recommendations for improvement.
