Evaluation | Evolving Shelter & WASH Approaches for Protection

Project Presentation

Trust Consultancy & Development was contracted to conduct an evaluation for Solidarités International (SI) that would contribute to the accountability and learning efforts of both SI and other complementary protection, shelter, and  WASH interventions in this region. The evaluation was designed using the OECD evaluation criteria of relevance, effectiveness, coverage, efficiency, impact, and sustainability.

Trust used a mixed-methods evaluation to allow for triangulation between sources of data to increase the validity and accuracy of findings across the scope  of implementation, while also ensuring that tools account for sensitivity around issues of protection. Mixed-method data collection included a desk review—encompassing a longitudinal study of households surveyed—KIIs, FGDs, surveys, and case studies. As the focus of the SI intervention was protection, Trust’s data collection exclusively  targeted  four  categories of people: women, children, elderly persons, and people with disabilities.
