Baseline Assessment of Questscope’s Protection Project

Questscope along with a local partneris providing child protection, gender based violence, and psychosocial support services for men, women, and children in the seven governorates in Syria. The local partner carries out interventions in 8 community centers and reachs other vulnerable communities through 10 mobile teams. Trust, in partnership with the Syrian and Levant Market Compass, was commissioned to conduct a baseline assessment of the project cycle between November 2019 and January 2020. The data collection team visited five community centers and two mobile units which were assessed through an observation checklist. A mixed-methods approach was used in designing methods for extracting quantitative and qualitative data. 480 surveys were conducted with direct beneficiaries and parents of child observations. Qualitative findings were triangulated through 14 focus group discussions with beneficiaries, as well as 29 key informant interviews with center staff, local authorities, volunteers, and community members. The final report was submitted which provided detailed analysis of findings and lessons learned.
