Trust conducted monitoring activities to assess Islamic Relief’s Food Security, WASH, and Cash for Work Program. With an overall objective to save lives, alleviate human suffering, improve and increase access to food and WASH, Islamic Relief is currently implementing two humanitarian assistance projects in the food security and WASH sectors in Hodeida and Lahj, Yemen. Trust was commissioned to monitor both projects in order to verify the achievement of key project components, in addition to identifying potential weaknesses and challenges and documenting lessons-learned and best practices. In order to provide an informative assessment in a short timeframe, Trust conducted 26 surveys with beneficiaries, ten interviews with project staff beneficiaries, and service providers. Additionally, Trust conducted eight FGDs with beneficiaries and four observations of project sites to provide insights on achievement of outputs and their acceptance and approval amongst beneficiaries. The findings of this exercise served as guidance for current and future programming, to ensure optimal utilization of resources to address the needs and priorities of those affected.
