About the Course

This workshop will help mid-senior level NGO managers identify partners to work with on humanitarian responses, including ways of working with different stakeholders (i.e. UN, INGOs, local government), and to map funding opportunities, and develop successful funding proposals for institutional donors (i.e. USAID, DFID, ECHO) and trusts/foundations.

Training Objectives

By the end of the training participants will:

  • Increase participants’ skills and confidence in approaching partners and finding areas of common approaches in humanitarian response. Allow participants to practice different ways they would communicate with partners i.e. how to talk to government officials/to UN.
  • Empower participants to search for funding opportunities- how to register for donor sites/what due diligence is required/what information about their organizations to give to donors to make them eligible for funding
  • Understand specific institutional donors (DFID, USAID, ECHO); knowing where to find information on available funds and how to approach donors.=
